Frequently Asked Dentistry Questions

We’re always happy to answer questions here at DFW Absolute Dental, so below, you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions our team receives every day. After reading over this page, if you still have a question for us, please go ahead and give us a call and ask! Our team is always ready to talk to you and share any information you need about your family’s dental care.

How often should I be going to the dentist?

Dr. Shahdad (as well as the American Dental Association) recommends that patients of all ages should attend at least one dental appointment every six months for a routine checkup and cleaning. This is the best way to make sure any dental issues are caught and treated early, plus these services can go a long way in preventing the development of problems in the first place.

Can I bring my children to DFW Absolute Dental?

Yes! Our team loves treating children of all ages, so the youngest members of your family are always welcome through our doors. Dr. Shahdad is a mother of two herself, so she’ll know exactly how to keep your little one comfortable while providing the age-appropriate services their growing smile needs.

How should I replace my missing teeth?

While this answer will ultimately be different for each patient, in most cases, Dr. Shahdad would highly recommend dental implants. Compared to every other option, they provide the most natural-looking, reliable, and durable results available today, able to recreate an entire tooth from root to crown. To learn which replacement option would be the best fit for you, we recommend you schedule a one-on-one consultation today.

I just knocked out one of my teeth! What should I do?

First and foremost, try to recover as much of the tooth that you can, and then immediately give DFW Absolute Dental a call. We’re happy to provide same-day emergency care for patients in your situation, and if you come to see us soon enough, we should be able to reattach the tooth. The time window for this is quite limited, so make sure you contact us right away!

Is there a way to straighten my teeth that doesn’t involve metal braces?

Yes! We now offer Invisalign, a system that uses a series of clear plastic aligners to slowly shift the teeth in the most discreet and subtle way possible. The aligners are practically invisible, meaning you’ll be able to smile with confidence throughout treatment. Plus, you can easily take them off whenever it’s time to eat or brush your teeth!

Will you accept my dental insurance?

Yes, we are able to accept any dental insurance plan regardless of the provider. We’ll go over your benefits so you know exactly what is and isn’t covered, and we’ll even file the claim for you so we can make sure you’re getting the most out of your coverage. To learn how we can use your particular plan to help you save at your next appointment, contact us today.
